International Festival – May 28, 2014

Belding School will hold an International Festival on Wednesday, May 28.   More than 45 different countries are represented by our student body— Belding is a diverse school!  The international festival is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity, to learn about new countries, and to encourage our students to think globally.

1)     Classroom learning to occur between now and May 28.  In every classroom students will learn about a particular country. Check with homeroom teachers for details.

2)     Daytime “Trip Around the World” on May 28 (8 am – 10:15 am) – each classroom will visit two other rooms and host two rooms to present learning about the countries your classes studied. –Schedule forthcoming.

3)     TWO Daytime Assemblies for presentations by Grades 5-8   “Worlds’ Fair Presentations”:

–1:00 for grades K-4 to watch. (Parents are welcome to attend)

–2:00 for grades 5-8 to watch. (Parents are welcome to attend)

4)     Evening FESTIVAL on May 28 from 5:30 -8  p.m. in front of the school on Tripp Avenue (weather permitting) or in the auditorium/gym.  Parade of Nations around the block/neighborhood,  Decorations, Classroom Performances, Other Performances (parents and students), Food sales and Crafts for Sale, Music, Raffles.   Classroom teachers and students are invited to be part of this evening celebration to present a performance of what your class learned. This could be the same presentation or a part of the presentation your class did in the morning for the “Trip Around The World.”   See Tatiana Santana for details and to schedule your class performance.
