Amber Leitsch, Music

Amber Leitsch recently relocated to Chicago from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is honored to be a part of the Belding community!

She is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education, as well as her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance.  She spent her time there directing the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Youth Choir, teaching private voice lessons in their Community Music School, directing/arranging music for Crimson Chords (an elite female a cappella jazz ensemble) and performing in the university’s choirs and operas.  Some of her fondest memories from college include performing in opera productions in Italy alongside other vocalists from all over the country.

After she graduated college, she directed, conducted the pit orchestra, and music directed for several musical productions around the Indiana, Pennsylvania area, then finished her school year at Harmony Area School District where she taught k-12 General Music, Band and Choir.

When she is not teaching, she spends some quality time with her cat, Gershwin Dusold-Leitsch, and catches up on TV shows.

Miss Leitsch’s number one priority in her classroom is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where her students can learn how to make music an outlet for their creativity, emotions, thoughts and energy.  Music can be an incredible tool to look into the past, learn about the world inside and outside of one’s own community, communicate with others, make a person’s day and create art.

Miss Leitsch is thrilled to live and teach in this wonderful city and can not wait to contribute to the students, music and community of Belding!
