Amani Mandil, Arabic World Language teacher

Assalam Alaikum

My name is Amani Mandil and I am very excited to join the Belding Family . I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Cairo University, a second Bachelors in Education from Sudan University and a Masters in Teaching Foreign Language from Concordia Language College,   I am pursuing my doctoral degree in Curriculum Design from New York University. I also have a Modern Standard Arabic certification and certified training teacher. I am a member of a variety of organizations that strengthen my commitment to teaching Arabic such as The New York Arabic Teacher Council, and Qatar Foundation International Council. American Council of teaching Foreign Language.

I have over 20 years of Arabic Language, Health, and Islamic History  teaching experience including developing Arabic language curricula for grades K-12.

As a teacher, I believe that our job goes beyond the scope of imparting our knowledge of the subject matter at hand, but to become effective role models for our students. This vision is brought to fruition by working together with both students and parents alike to become a larger part of our local and school communities through organizing charity basketball tournaments, science and social studies fairs, community clean-ups, among other school-wide events.

I believe that each student must have equal opportunities with their education no matter how old they are. I believe each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. Through my diverse experience, I hope to teach my students to strive to reach their true potential by believing in them as capable individuals. I will mentor my students so that they can discover who they are, express their own opinions, and nurture their own ideas. I have a vision of a world where people learn to respect, accept, and embrace the differences between us. Essentially, this is the core of what makes life so fascinating.

Teaching is my passion and I can’t see myself anywhere else than teaching and surrounded by my students.

Other than teaching and designing curriculum , I love to travel and explore new destinations. I am highly interested in exploring nature and observing its beauty from unique angles. I also have an interest in dessert decorating, which I usually have a chance to work on during weekends or longer vacations from work.

I am looking forward to working with every member of the Belding, community to further our mission. May Allah grant us a successful school year.
